Who started the vintage T-shirt craze that seems to have conquered the world? Junk Food claims to be the original vintage tee company, and its huge collection of symbols and logos from yesteryear still come plastered on soft, comfy fabrics that feel as lived-in as the designs. Just about every cartoon character that has gained a global following, every rock band that inspired the last generation and, of course, all of the teams from the U.S.’s National Basketball Association and National Football League can be found on Junk Food creations. Many of the designs feature that faded look that quickly propelled Junk Food to the height of the tee market soon after its opening in 1998. The line now owns the distribution rights for 800 pop culture properties, a smart move for an enterprise that wants to interpret iconic images from another era in a unique way again and again. That’s what makes each shirt an original, and long-sleeved versions and fleeces are available, too, so that you can tell the world how much you love Popeye and Cheap Trick.
