From the time he was selling ties to his secondary schoolmates, Ralph Lauren (nee Lifshitz) always had a sense of how to combine style with commerce. Dropping out of college and joining the military did not seem like great choices to achieve his self-professed goal to become a millionaire, but Ralph had ideas that began to percolate while later working at a Brooks Brothers store in New York. His first Polo offering (neckties, naturally) did well, and soon after, a global brand was born, as well as an iconic logo. The Lauren style never seems to weaken, and Polo Ralph Lauren live up to all the brand has meant over the years. The popularity of the brand has made Ralph one of the richest men in the world, and when you wear his jeans, polos or underwear, you’ll look better off than you really are.
