All Things Farah!
A true Hollywood success story! After winning her college beauty pageant, Fawcett was spotted by acting agents who fast-forwarded her career immediately. She moved to LA, became a Charlie’s Angel and was the “IT” girl of the 70s. Women flocked to hairdressers worldwide asking for the “Farrah” although many could not deliver on this mean feat. The infamous red swimsuit picture meant Farrah was a sex symbol and a global phenomenon, but it might surprise you to hear that she also had a degree in microbiology… Sexy and smart!
With the Rio Olympics about to explode on Saturday 6th August into a carnival of excitement, it would be completely unreasonable not to mention this man… King Mo or Mo Farah as he most commonly known. A true British legend who has won Gold in both the 5000m and 10000m long distance running events. Mo is the best in his field and we can’t wait to tune in on the 14th & 17th of August to watch him defend his crown again. Good Luck Mo!
And finally… The final Farah of the bunch…
Farah Vintage was born in El Paso, Texas in the 1920’s. Back then it was just a small factory producing men’s clothes for as little as 35 cents. However, in the 1950’s the company restructured and this brought about Farah Gold Label, a new venture in which Farah quickly established itself as an exciting, stylish, fashion orientated brand. It was not long before they struck gold in the 1970s. Farah broke the UK and the iconic Farah hopsack and frogmouth trousers were a staple item for any Mod. Their popularity with youth subculture continued to grow and the Farah brand continued to become a popular household name. Throughout the 70s and 80s their brand was never far away from the terraces or music gigs, Mod or Casual, Farah was likely to be in your wardrobe.
The success story does not stop there. In the 90s Britpop Indie music was at an all-time high with bands like Oasis, Blur, Charlatans and Supergrass promoting music and fashion in a new and exciting way. Farah Vintage was on cue and supported the retro/mod style that was so often desired and soon became an indie fashion connoisseur.
Supplying authentic heritage and style that produces a retro inspired look that is clean, sharp and hard to beat, Farah Vintage really is men’s clothing at its best.
