Boot Camp… styles to keep you out of the cold this winter.

Let’s face it. I know it’s hard to accept. There are even some of us that are still clinging on to minuscule golden rays that we call sunshine, but… Summer is over. We have had a glorious late showing of sunshine and have been slightly deceived into thinking that the Floridian climate has popped across the water to enchant us with winter sunshine. However, with temperatures dropping to a measly 12 degrees this week we were brought back to reality with a harsh cold slap in the face and out came the winter wardrobe to ensure we stay frostbite free this winter. Whilst our winter threads might be on point, we have to still consider giving winter the boot with our footwear choices.

Below we will examine a number of different boot styles to keep you looking cool, not frozen out this winter.

1. The Hiking Boot.
Traditionally seen on the peaks of Ben Nevis or crunching along the crisp paths of the Alps, nevertheless, do not underestimate the fashion prowess of the hiking boot. Despite being seen on the local adventurer the hiking boot has established itself as a firm favourite for a sharp dressed man who likes to know his boots can handle the terrain wherever he may end up.

Generally hiking boots offer comfort that is second to none, with a leather lining and full ankle support they are often hard to beat.

Team a hiking boot with robust fabrics and chunky winter wear for the best look. Think thick flannel shirts, cable knits or denim jackets.

2. The Brogue Boot
The brogue boot doesn’t just partner up with almost every formal outfit you have, they also find themselves knocking about with the casuals too.

The brogue boot has evolved from its smaller, less rugged brother (the brogue). With a rubber sole and stretching higher up the ankle the brogue boot provides the winter properties to ensure your feet stay dry and warm throughout the winter months and they come straight out of the top drawer when it comes to style!

When matching up a brogue boot look for flat front chinos for a day in the office or your favourite turned up jeans when they are let out to play.

3. The Leather Desert Boot
We do accept that summer is long gone. And, we do accept that a beige desert boot is a summer essential. But, what outfit does not benefit from being rounded off by a great shaped piece of footwear?!

The desert boot has a simplistic style and versatility and therefore can be worn throughout the different seasons and teamed with an array of outfit choices. Obviously with colder days and the highly likely scenario that you are going to get caught out in the rain, sleet or snow this winter we recommend choosing a desert boot that is not made with suede.
