MEN AT WORK: How to Rock this Season’s Swedish Fisherman Look

You’re probably all familiar with the video below, but did you realise that these dudes were going to be such important taste makers for AW13. Yep this season it’s all about channelling your inner Swedish fisherman.

Work wear is a key trend for autumn winter 2013 and getting on board with this look will make your season much more comfortable. We’re not talking about shirts for the office here though; this season’s work-wear has a rural, folksy feel; think urban shepard. Work wear is incredibly wearable and chicks dig it, so what are you waiting for?

This season’s work wear look is really easy to put together. Invest in just a couple of key pieces and put them together with some of your regular wardrobe staples.

Swedish Fisherman:

The bedrock of this look is a good pair of loose or straight-leg, faded jeans – you can’t go wrong with a pair of original fit 501 Levis. Team these with a plain tee, preferably with a loose neck, and you have your base layer.

One of the key investments for this season is going to be a shawl collar jumper. Look out for natural fibres, chunky knits and strong geometric Shetland and Hebridean patterns. Brands like Farrah and Hilfiger Denim are really nailing this look. Finally, add a beanie or one of the new season’s bobble hats, throw on a fleece lined parka jacket and get ready to cast off.
