Whether it is being debated in parliament or on the front page of your favourite newspaper, religion is never far from the forefront of the media circus. With over 10,000 distinct religions worldwide and over 84% of the global population affiliated to a religion it is no surprise that religion is a topic that we can all relate to. However, this is not a pitch to persuade you to a certain faith or to abstain from your current beliefs, rather, this is a post to enlighten you to our favourite brand that mixes religion, fashion and style of the highest order and show you a new meaning of life.
Religion Clothing was established in London in 1989 and surged in to the early 90s chemically inspired rave scene. The clothing brand rooted itself firmly in the club culture by brandishing religious beliefs and anarchic graphics across statement t-shirts that became a hit with the young and free.
Since then Religion has continued to produce highly fashionable garments for both men and women that have often been snapped in the spotlight on face such as Agyness Deyn to Kate Moss. The brand has a ‘no fear’ policy to experimenting with designs and has created a unique appeal to its followers. The clothing is often distressed and worn but has the sex appeal of a rock star.
In the past Religion has collaborated with a number of different genres mixing with likes of DC comics to major clubs in Europe such as Space, Ministry of Sound and Ibiza Rocks.
The brand is recognised by its use of feature stitching, which usually runs along the spine of a shirt, and the worshipping skeleton that will feature on the garment. Take a look at some of our favourite pieces in their latest range below.
Religion White Four Of A Kind Logo T-Shirt – £34.95
Anyone that plays poker will know that four of a kind is very hard to come by, especially four aces. Play this hand and you are certain to be a winner! The t-shirt features a large print on the reverse with feature stitching either side.
Religion Steel Captive Suedette T-Shirt – £44.95
This t-shirt comes in suede, which we love. The fabric offers a new texture to work with and is particularly eye catching against black denim jeans. The irregular hem gives great shape to this t-shirt. We recommend this as a slightly boxier fit than usual.
Religion Black Stealth Cargo Logo Joggers – £59.95
Cargos are back! Slowly creeping back into fashion cargo bottoms are becoming a big hit. The pocket detailing on each leg provides a practical solution to where you can store your wallet as well as giving your joggers a unique design feature.
Religion Navy/Pink Block Fade Long Logo T-Shirt – £34.95
This t-shirt screams summer at us. The fading colour way reminds us of the skyline as the sun has just dropped into Mediterranean waters off of the coast of Ibiza and let’s face it… we all love an Ibiza sunset!
So, whether you believe in Christianity, Islam, Scientology or any of the religions across the planet there is one thing we can all have faith in and that is Religion Clothing.
